ICMS Convocation Registration & Payment System
+ A complete digital convocation registration and secure online payment system built for ICMS students.
The ICMS Convocation Registration & Payment System is a custom web application we developed to simplify and digitize the student convocation registration process. The platform enables students to verify their registration details, complete their convocation registration, and securely pay the required convocation fee online. We designed the system to provide a smooth, structured experience for students while helping the institution centralize registration and payment records. The application includes an interactive registration flow, student data handling, Razorpay payment integration, payment verification, webhook processing, and dedicated success and confirmation pages.

The Problem
The convocation registration process required students to complete registration and fee payment through a process that could be difficult to track and manage manually. There was a need for a centralized system where students could verify their details, register for the convocation, make payments securely, and receive clear confirmation after successful registration.
The Challenge
Our main challenge was creating a reliable end-to-end workflow connecting student verification, registration, payment processing, payment verification, and database updates.
We also needed to handle the complete Razorpay payment lifecycle correctly, including order creation, payment tracking, asynchronous webhook events, payment verification, and preventing incomplete or duplicate registration records.
At the same time, the user experience had to remain simple and easy for students to understand.

3. Developed the frontend using Next.js and modern responsive UI components.
4. Built backend API routes for registration and payment operations.
5. Integrated Razorpay for secure convocation fee payments.
6. Implemented payment verification and webhook handling.
7. Connected the application to the database for storing registration and payment records.
8. Built success and confirmation pages for completed registrations.
9. Tested the complete flow from student verification to successful payment confirmation.
10. Optimized the application for deployment and production use.
The Solution
We developed a custom multi-step web application that guides students through the complete convocation registration process.
Students can enter and verify their registration details, complete the required registration steps, and securely pay the convocation fee through Razorpay. The system processes payment information through backend API routes and handles payment events using Razorpay webhooks.
After successful completion, students receive a dedicated confirmation experience showing their registration and payment status.
